Dr. Gardner is an online instructor in criminal justice, her expertise centers on juvenile justice and advocacy. She works remotely for the department. You may see her around when she comes to campus! Dr. Gardner earned her doctorate in criminology, law and society at the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of Florida. Her doctoral research specifically focused on transfer, graduated sanctions, and recidivism patterns but her areas of interest include juvenile justice and delinquency, juvenile law, and corrections, more broadly. Prior to joining the faculty at ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ at Lafayette, Dr. Gardner worked as an instructor and adjunct lecturer at several universities, including the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of Florida and the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of South Carolina, as well as a content tutor for the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Athletic Association at the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of Florida. During her studies, she completed several internships with various juvenile justice programs in the state of Florida, including the Teen Court program in the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office; the Gainesville Wilderness Institute funded by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice; and Project Payback, a juvenile restitution program at the State Attorney’s Office in Gainesville, Florida. Currently, she serves the state of Florida as a Guardian ad Litem child advocate.
