Dr. Giroir is an experienced educator with a demonstrated history of working in the field of higher education at both public and private institutions. Dr. Giroir began his career in higher education by working in ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ affairs, in particular residence life and housing. After working for several years with residence life, he decided to transition into other areas on the university campus to include campus activities, campus intramurals/recreation, campus welcome center, Greek Life, ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ leadership, and orientation/FYE.

Dr. Giroir brings his years of practical work experience into the classroom as he enjoys working to prepare the next generation of university administrators. He has served in graduate faculty roles at both The ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ of Southern Mississippi and Arkansas Tech ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ. In addition to faculty roles held, he also held administrative duties in higher education that included serving as graduate program coordinator, department head, and an associate dean. His research interests include: Co-Curricular Experiences and their impact on overall ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ success (undergraduate & graduate ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs), graduate ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ success initiatives, and today’s college ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵs and their parents.

Dr. Giroir is married to Dr. Beth Giroir, who serves as the Executive Director for ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓƵ Success at UL, and they have 2 children, Lilly and Sam. Dr. Giroir enjoys travelling, cooking, cheering on his favorite sporting teams, and is a fan of Charles Schulz and his Peanut characters.
