Catherine Roche-Wallace is a Graduate Coordinator and a Professor in the School of Music and Performing Arts.

Biography

Catherine Roche-Wallace is Professor of Horn and Theory, as well as the Coordinator of in the School of Music at UL Lafayette. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music from Youngstown State ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ, where she studied with William B. Slocum, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ of Memphis, where she studied with Richard Dolph.

Dr. Roche-Wallace is currently the second horn in the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, and performs with the ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ Brass Quintet.  Her commissions and premieres include the Worldwide Concurrent Premiere of Yehudi Wyner's HORNTRIO and her upcoming premiere of G. Bradley Bodine's Rhapsody for Horn and Percussion, commissioned by Dr. Roche-Wallace with grant assistance from the International Horn Society's  Meir Rimon Commission Fund.  She has performed with orchestras in ÑÇÖÞ×ÔοÊÓÆµ, Tennessee,  Ohio, and Michigan, and the Aspen Festival Orchestra, and has presented recitals in eight U.S. states,  Canada, and Finland.   Dr. Roche-Wallace is in demand as an adjudicator and clinician for Conn/Selmer Musical Instruments, Inc., and has presented programs at Northeast, Southeast, and International Horn Symposia.

During the summer, Dr. Roche-Wallace serves as Artist Faculty at the Blue Lake Summer Music Camp in Blue Lake, MI.
